As I read through chapter in our books i found much of it to be quite interesting. The chapter was about using the internet and different distance learning tools. Some of these tools are student research and web based assignments. Some of the negative aspects of using these methods are the threats bresented by things such as Inappropriate Materials,
privacy and safety, and fraud. the chapter also covered different things to deal with the web such as search engines and how to judge the quality and integredy of the sights being evaluated. this information will help me as i try to continue integrating technology into my classroom experiances.

This video I found on teacher is great. It is an Introduction to either and American lit section or an American Lit course its self. This is great to me for several reasons. First of all, i have been struggeling to find a was to bri ng technology into the classroom and this seems like an amazing way to do it. Not only would showing this video be a great intro to the course but it brings a technological aspect that the students will be acostomed to and find interesting. The other thing that I thought highly about this production is the quality in which it was put together. It felt as if i was wathing a movie trailer for american lit movie. It almost had a dramatic aspect to it that really jumped out at me. I would love it if one of my teachers showed me this before a class and I would love to create something like it for a class of my own one day.

ch 5 blog
as i was looking for a picture on creative commons web sites i came across this one. It was created by an individual named Onopko. The picture is beautiful to me. I am really intrigued by the contrast between the beautifully bright white bird flapping its wings against the deep black background. The second I saw the Picture i knew that it was the one i wanted to post on my page because of the way the creature looks as if it is about to fly off of my screen. really cool.

chapter 4 blog
A school that i have found called Wylie Independent School District in Texas has found an awesome way of integrating technology into their classrooms. This particular school has chosen to take advantage of the use of Microsoft Windows Media throughout their school. Using this has allowed both students and teachers to create anything from lectures, presentations, seminars, and tons of other activities with perfectly coordinated visual and audio functions. Another aspect i found interesting is that the school was also able to divert cable television to each of the rooms through the use of the Windows Media saving them about 280,000 dollars.

Today i checked out a website Scratch.mit.com. I really enjoyed looking through this website for several reasons. The website is designed to let either students or teachers customize a program in hundreds of unique ways to cater to almost any lesson you could think of. The first thing that I did as I scrolled through the site was to check out all (or at least alot) of the other programs that were developed. This is an awesome aspect of the site because it gives people, such as teachers looking for new ideas, a basis to begin working on the site. I also messed around for a bit with the application and enjoyed myself. Putting these clips together, and adding music, and actions was a really good time. By using this i could definatly see myself trying to apply an application from the site to give a lesson or as a type of "feature" in a lesson. Also, one of the other really advantageous aspects to the software was the ease in which it can be applied making it also possible to let students on the site to work themselves. Check it out.

chapter 2 blog
As I scrolled through several web sites provided to me by me by my teacher I came across one titled Blue Web'N. Of the websites provided I found that this was the most interesting. The premice behind the site is that is an online library of usefull websites for teachers. Through the vast system of thousands of sites you can find tools, resources, lessons, tutorials, activities, and references designed to fit any grade level and content area. The reason I like this so much is because in this class the main thing we keep coming back to is how to integrate technology into the classroom and this is one that i believe could really be done. Even though the students wouldn't be directly involved with the use of the technology, I, the teacher would be utilizing this vast source of knowledge to to help me further their education.

on the web 2.0 my group and i posted a queestion asking how technology could be utilized in the classroom to bring up ideas of racism. the general response we got was that technology or the net probably isnt the greatest tool that could be used when bringing up this topic. most of the people believed that the issue at hand was to serious and possibly contraversial to be handled so impersonally and should be delt with on a more humanistic nature.

sites
today i looked through four websites. the AACE, AECT, ISTE, and the INEA. each one of these groups are for the advancement of technology in the classroom. as i read through them i found quite a bit to be interesting and useful. one of the main things i noticed and liked was that they all offered conferences across the nation geared toward helping teachers and anyone interested in technology for that matter learn all the interesting, and useful things technology has to offer to students and all people. on several of the sites i also noticed scholarships being offered. i always like scholarships so anyone offering them is good in my book. as i searched around i also noticed tons of articles regarding classroom technology which would be useful to read when trying to figure out how t better the technology use in my own class someday. i even saw a "digital library" on one of the pages which had an endless bank of information. these organizations could be great tools and recorces for the my class in the future.
Copy Right
I read all about copyright laws on my ramct web page and this is what they told me. First of all, even if you think you are doing the right thing for a student by coying something for them to help their education it is still wrong. You must follow the rules. you have to read the copyright laws before making copies. some have rules like how many copies you can make and such. Some work books are made to be bought by teachers to make mass copies for their students to work from but make sure that it says you can and that you don't just assume it is ok because there isn't something saying its not alright. Ask permission from publishers to copy and dont cover up copyright labels because it can be misconstrued as stealing credit.
